6 reviews of West Brompton London Underground and Overground Station "Surprisingly little known to those from outside the area, West Brompton is something of a hidden gem, with a wide variety of destinations available. It's used by over 3.3 million people every year. It's only 5 minutes' walk from the Warwick Road exit of Earl's Court station, but more importantly it is actually closer to Earl's Court 2 than Earl's Court itself, and gets a lot less crowded when there are events taking place. Situated on the Earl's Court to Wimbledon branch of the District line, it gets direct trains both to Edgware Road and Upminster, as well as Wimbledon. The two Underground platforms have an attractive high-level canopy, with ivy-clad walls and planted borders. These platforms were opened in 1869 as a terminus from Gloucester Road, and were extended to Putney in 1880. The station building is a small but neat example in a creamy stock-brick Italianate style.
