Sculptural railings
Bruce McLean: Sculptural Railings - Canary Wharf
Bruce McLean's work at Canary Wharf is the sculptural railing alongside Fisherman's Walk. The 40-meter long charcoal steel rail is heavily worked with shapes, faces, circles and squares, true to his style.McLean challenges the traditional structure of the railing, subverting the straight line with wit and vigour. McLean's prolific output includes the Argyle Street Redevelopment in Glasgow and Queen Mary College School of Medicine and Dentistry in Whitechapel, the latter in collaboration with architect Will Alsop with whom McLean has worked on numerous schemes.
