King James' and Landport Gates


King James's and Landport Gates, Portsmouth | English Heritage
Two ornamental gateways, once part of Portsmouth's defences. King James's Gate (of 1687) has been moved, but Landport Gate (1760), remains in it's original position.
Before You Go How to Find Them : King James's Gate forms the entrance to the United Services Recreation Ground on Burnaby Road. Landport Gate serves as the entrance to the ground on St George's Road. Other Information : There is no access to the interior.
