Carpenters Road Lock was first built in 1933 so that boats could access the bustling waterways of East London. But just a few years ago this historic lock was disused and rusting, while the Bow Back Rivers were unloved, unnavigable and full of rubbish. We’ve breathed new life into these abandoned waterways so that Carpenters Road Lock stands proudly at the heart of London’s newest urban park, ready to lift its gates on a whole new chapter.
